The month of July is supposed to be the onset of summer in Montana but according to latest weather forecasts, another round of severe thunderstorm is expected for a large swath of Eastern Montana. Generally speaking, more thunderstorms occur in the eastern half of Montana than in the western half. These storms could bring hail storms as large as golf balls, heavy rains, and winds in excess of 70 mph, as reported by the weather service. However, isolated storms are possible as far southwest as Bozeman and severe weather is more likely in the northeastern portion of the state.
More Severe Weather Expected In Eastern Montana
Another round of severe thunderstorms is expected Friday for a large swath of Eastern Montana, according to the National Weather Service.
Severe thunderstorms are possible for most of Montana east of the Continental Divide, with the highest chances for extreme weather farther east.
The storms could bring hail stones as large as golf balls, heavy rain and winds in excess of 70 mph, according to the weather service. Read more here.
